The Gettysburg Address and the Gaza GenocideBy Glen Wallace But now we are engaged in an arbitrary war, with our back not against the wall, in some far off land and sea, wondering why we are there in the first place. When Lincoln gave his Gettysburg address, he asked whether America could endure the Civil War it was in the midst of. At the time, the very existence of the Union was in jeopardy and being tested. Everyone had gathered to hear Lincoln's speech at the very site of a great Civil War battlefield to dedicate that ground as a cemetery for those who lost their lives in the battle. America was in an existential crisis both in practical terms and in philosophical terms as well. Philosophically, the Civil War tested whether our nation could live up to the principle as stated in the Declaration of Independence, where Thomas Jefferson wrote “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness ” The Iran war, on the other hand, goes against those very foundational principles of this nation. It is a war not being fought because our nation's existence is being tested either practically or philosophically by the nation of Iran. Instead, it is a war expending America's blood and treasure to aid the foreign State of Israel's ethnosupremacist goal to take away the life, liberty and happiness of anyone who stands in the way of Israel's megalomaniacal goal of expanding its borders into the Greater Israel state borders. Iran, through their support of the resistance within Lebanon and other nations whose own borders are currently situated within Greater Israel's proposed borders, present the greatest obstacle to Israel's expansionist goal. One can only speculate as to whether the motives to aid Israel are a genuine belief in the fanatical Zionist religious movement or because American leaders are being bribed either overtly with lobby dollars or covertly with payola dollars, or because some politician is under the duress of blackmail or other form of coercion by Israeli forces. But it is clear that Israel has, to a degree, succeeded in perpetrating a sort of soft coup takeover of the United States. The existential threat then, ironically, doesn't come from the nation we are at war with, Iran, but the nation state we are engaging in the war on behalf of and at the behest of; the State of Israel. Given that American's are dying and becoming gravely injured for the State of Israel, we have become not a nation of the people, by the people and for the people. We have become a nation of Israel, by the State of Israel and for the State of Israel and its fanatical, ethnosupremacist Zionist cause. The State of Israel and its driving Cult of Zion religious movement, have demonstrated by its leaders' words and actions that it does not believe in the ideal that all humans are created equal by the divine creator. The foundational principle of the State of Israel is that a certain people of one religious ethnicity are inherently superior to all people of every other religious ethnicity. And by their actions, such as the Gaza genocide and their treatment of Palestinian prisoners and Palestinian West Bank residents and the Lebanese people, the Israeli Zionists have demonstrated that they consider the lives of all others outside of their religion and ethnicity to have lives no more valuable than that of a scurrying insect about to be crushed under the boot of an IDF soldier. While Gettysburg was the site of a battle right here in the homeland where tens of thousands of soldiers from the homeland lost their lives just in that one battle alone, the Iran war is being prosecuted thousands of miles away from the homeland with soldiers lost in all the battles of that war currently numbering one and half dozen. At the time of the Civil War, there was no getting away from its impact on the nation and the crisis it posed for the nation. But with the Iran war, the US Deep State and its mainstream media puppets have the ability to create an emotional and psychological distance between the typical American and the war. Let's face it, for most Americans the closest obvious connection to the war currently is the higher cost to their wallet at the gasoline pump compared to before the war. As a result, the puppet master State of Israel is able to pull the strings of the their puppets in the US Congress and the mainstream US media and Deep State military leadership, directing them to engage in this war with only limited resistance from the pleb American public, most of whom can otherwise largely go about their day as though the Iran war wasn't even going on. But the Iran war is going on, with American soldiers losing their lives and sustaining life changing grave injuries, all to help Israel achieve its Greater Israel expansionist goals; goals that are diametrically opposed to the foundational principles of the United States of America. Those principles are that everyone deserves and has equal right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and not have those rights limited just because someone is of a different ethnicity or religion from those in power as is the case in the modern State of Israel. That we are ordering soldiers to give their lives to help a foreign nation violate those unalienable rights that are codified in the US Constitution and outlined in our Declaration of Independence and reiterated by President Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address, is an abomination to our brave soldiers and our great nation. |
